HitchHiker doesn’t insure your package if lost by mail service. Shoppers should ask for "signature-required delivery" when purchasing their items online, specially when the item is valued over $100. This guarantees that the package is delivered to the Traveler in-person and not left in the mailbox/doorstep (where it would be vulnerable to theft).
In case of mailbox theft when the Shopper could have asked for "signature-required delivery" but didn't, then it's the Shopper's fault and they will not be compensated.
In the rare case where "signature-required delivery" is not possible, then both Shopper and Traveler have to make sure the package is delivered in-person. Shopper should inquire about the timing of package delivery and inform the Traveler.
If the Shopper doesn't inform the Traveler about the package delivery time, then it's the Shopper's and they will not be compensated.
If the Shopper does inform the Traveler, but the Traveler failed to be available at the time of delivery, then it's the Traveler's fault, and in this case HitchHiker will prevent the Traveler from earning their reward in order to compensate the Shopper.
